A&D Reservoir Engineer

Walker Elliott is working with upstream oil and gas company, and we are recruiting for Senior A&D Reservoir Engineer with a strong background in the Permian Basin (TX and/or NM side, ideally both). Our client focuses on growing reserves, production and free cash while maintaining a strong balance sheet. This will be remote position with some travel required.

Candidate will play a crucial role in assessing acquisition and divestiture opportunities and providing strategic insights to guide high-impact decisions. This position requires a deep understanding of Permian assets, extensive A&D experience, and technical proficiency in ARIES. The selected candidate will work closely with executive leadership, actively participating in the decision-making process as the company pursues growth through acquisitions and development.

Responsibilities:

• Asset Evaluation: Conduct detailed evaluations of potential acquisition and divestiture opportunities within the Permian Basin, focusing on asset quality, potential returns, and alignment with strategic objectives.
• Due Diligence: Lead due diligence efforts for prospective transactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess reserves, performance, and risks. Review technical data and prepare comprehensive reports for executive review.
• Underwriting & Financial Analysis: Perform rigorous underwriting analysis, incorporating financial models to assess risk-adjusted returns and project cash flows. Prepare and present recommendations to senior leadership, supporting investment decisions.
• Technical Modeling: Utilize ARIES software to build and refine technical models for reserve analysis, cash flow forecasting, and valuation of assets. Ensure model accuracy and relevance to specific A&D opportunities.
• Collaboration with Executive Leadership: Engage directly with C-level executives, presenting findings, providing strategic recommendations, and contributing to investment discussions. Serve as a trusted advisor in the acquisition process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences, or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 3+ years of RECENT A&D reservoir engineering experience, with a strong focus on the Permian Basin
• Proficiency with ARIES software is essential
• Proven ability to conduct comprehensive asset evaluations and due diligence
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience interacting with executive leadership
