We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Airborne Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Airborne Systems Engineer at ITI, you will be part of a nimble and innovative team finding creative design solutions to customer problems in the airborne product space. You will work on product architecture design of airborne products, technical proposals, detailed design and qualification, and production implementation. You will partner with talented mechanical, electrical, and software engineers in a culture of fast-faced innovation. As a senior team member, you will take a lead-role in project execution and mentor energetic junior engineers. You will work directly with our Director of Airborne Products and Director of Engineering to develop product roadmap and growth initiatives. You will be one of the key interfaces to our customers. You will be a critical part of a hard-working team that brings solutions to our customers in months instead of years.

ITI's core business is hardware and software products that are used on the ground for Mission Planning and Mission Debrief, as well as airborne Data Transfer Receptacles and Cartridges that support a multitude of aircraft including the F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, IDF, T-50, Mirage, F-2 and F-4. In this role, you will be a key player in growing the ITI airborne product business.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers and ITI business development team to define product roadmap.
• Define product architectures and high-level designs.
• Write best-of-class technical proposals.
• Take a leadership role in coordinating the ITI engineering team in airborne product design, test strategy, and qualification execution.
• Provide mentorship, design review, and clear direction to the engineering team – including those without previous experience with airborne products.
• Provide technical support and expertise to Director of Airborne Products and Director of Engineering during pursuit of new business to ensure product offerings align with customer requirements.
• Define technical risks and partner with the ITI leadership team to manage.
• Be the face-of-ITI to our customers.
• Expert and efficient systems engineering task execution including flow-down requirement analysis, feasibility assessment, and technical solution development
• You will be required to travel up to 25%, consisting of some international travel – this includes tradeshows and customer presentations and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years experience in design engineering
• Cross-functional knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines
• Ability to design airborne data transfer and storage systems, including audio/video recorders
• Subject matter expert in airborne product design techniques and qualification requirements
• Experience in all aspects of the systems engineering process, from requirements analysis through verification testing
• Experience directing technical teams in a project leadership role
• Strong technical writing skills
• Strong customer presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Engineering degree
• Due to export controls and ITAR products, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and can obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
• Must be a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment
