Job Title: Assistant Superintendent – Ground-Up Medical Construction

Location: Culver City, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Project Superintendent / Project Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to support the daily field operations for a ground-up medical construction project . The ideal candidate will have experience with healthcare or complex commercial construction and a strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and schedule coordination. This position plays a key role in ensuring the successful and timely delivery of high-quality medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Superintendent in managing daily site operations, subcontractor coordination, and field execution.
• Monitor site safety and ensure compliance with all OSHA, local, and project-specific safety regulations.
• Help manage and maintain the construction schedule, identifying and reporting potential delays.
• Conduct and document daily field reports, safety inspections, and quality control measures.
• Coordinate delivery and storage of materials and equipment on-site.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure design and code compliance.
• Support inspections and walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Attend and contribute to project and subcontractor meetings.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
• Assist with punch list development and close-out activities.

Qualifications:

• 5–9+ years of field experience in commercial or healthcare construction, preferably in a supervisory or support role.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and safety standards.
• Prior experience with ground-up construction projects is required; healthcare construction experience is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) procedures and healthcare-specific construction guidelines is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and schedules.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam) is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adjust to project demands.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to navigate active construction sites (climb ladders, walk uneven surfaces, work in outdoor environments).
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Stand or walk for extended periods.
