BHE GT&S JOB DESCRIPTION BHE GT&S has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Regulatory Analyst/Regulatory Analyst/Senior Regulatory Analyst at our headquarters in Glen Allen, VA.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Provides supporting information for pricing products services and cost recovery mechanisms.
- Ensures timely filing of rate applications and compliance documents by providing support.
- Gathers and provides supporting information and documentation for regulatory filings and compliance documents.
- Prepares work papers analyses and discovery responses.
- Monitors regulatory changes and provides information to ensure compliance with regulatory commission directives.
- Provides research or gathers supporting information that may be presented to regulators internal counsel external counsel and outside consultants.
- Maintains tariff and related information.
- Acts as supporting resource for internal and external inquiries regarding routine rate and regulatory matters.
- May prepare and submit regulatory filings.
- May prepare rate analyses for incremental projects.
- May assist with analysis of regulatory earnings and revenue requirements of current and future periods which may support rate adjustment clauses.
Other Preferred Degree(s): Accounting, Economics, Finance QUALIFICATIONS Associate Regulatory Analyst: - 0-2 years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Basic financial and accounting knowledge, which may include GAAP practices.
- Effective analytical, computer, problem assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Experience with Excel.
- Ability to explain results of analysis and/or research.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate processes involving other departments, and to ensure compliance with regulatory filing requirements.
Regulatory Analyst: - 2-5 years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts, GAAP practices, analytical techniques, and regulatory issues.
- Effective analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.
Senior Regulatory Analyst: - 5+ years experience in state and/or federal regulatory and rate setting process, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced financial, accounting and/or tax concepts, and regulatory issues.
- Outstanding analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem solving skills.
- Effective oral communication, written communication, presentation, coaching, and teaching skills.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend courses of action, in response to inquiries.
- Ability to be an expert witness.
All Levels: Education Bachelor (Typically four years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
