Avionics Electrical Engineer

$100,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

Role

• Develop and refine electronic hardware for airborne systems, including schematic creation and PCB layout tailored for flight applications
• Utilize modeling tools and analytical methods to evaluate performance and reliability of embedded avionics components
• Support early-stage hardware validation through lab-based testing, debugging, and performance tuning of newly fabricated boards
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electronics within larger system architectures, ensuring cohesive operation across subsystems
• Manage hardware lifecycles from initial concept through certification and active deployment in flight environments

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Hands-on background developing electronic hardware solutions for over two years
• Proven track record creating circuit board designs, including schematic capture and layout development
• Skilled in selecting appropriate components and applying foundational principles of circuit design and analysis
• Experienced in diagnosing and resolving issues in both individual boards and larger integrated systems
• Capable of clearly articulating technical issues, providing justification for design decisions, and collaborating to find effective solutions

Nice to Have

• Practical experience developing electronic systems for high-performance platforms such as aerospace vehicles, autonomous systems, or other mobile technologies
• Familiarity with industry-standard PCB design tools, including expertise in platforms like Altium
• Background in early-stage hardware development across niche domains such as imaging systems, power and motion control, communications hardware, embedded electronics, or space-rated components
• Involvement in the manufacturing process, including collaboration with board fabrication and assembly partners
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative engineering environments, particularly within lean or startup teams
