NEPHROLOGY AND HYPERTENSION (IN-NEPH-IUINA)

The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension is committed to the research, treatment and prevention of kidney diseases, including acute and chronic renal failure, complications of chronic dialysis treatment, hypertension, and kidney stones and cystic disease.
- Provides experienced consultation and employs a variety of computational sequence analysis (mathematical and computing) tools to model and analyze biological data in support of researchers.
- Accesses, extracts and prepares data for analysis, including combining data run on multiple platforms as well as externally generated data in support of meta-analyses.
- Installs, configures, customizes, and supports analytical software for data on research clusters; develops software and programming scripts for software and workflow systems utilized by researchers.
- Undertakes performance and reliability assessments to ensure systems are performing to maximum productivity and scientific validity; participates in ongoing evaluation of new software, systems, approaches, and emerging technologies.
- Documents consultation, analysis, and quality control efforts; may contribute to grant and report writing.
- Researches and stays up-to-date on emerging technologies/tools, trends, standards, and best practices related to bioinformatics.

Required - Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, bioinformatics, biology, or related field
Required WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of research technology support, large biological data analysis, or related experience

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
