POSITION Caregiver Hearthstone at Murrayhill

DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

As a caregiver you will assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting according to the individual service plan. Caregivers allow and encourage our residents to maintain their independence while preserving their dignity and serving with love, respect and integrity.

Caregiver Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, care of personal items and mobility
• Promptly answer calls for assistance
• Record and document care provide
• Escort residents to dining area and activities
• Observe and report changes in resident’s physical condition or behavior to Med Tech, RCC or Nurse
• Safely uses equipment such as mechanical lifts
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations
• Works collaboratively with other team members
• Participates in projects, in-services, or committees as assigned
• Assists in training of new staff
• Must be self-motivated and able to think independently
• Must be able to work flexible hours and participate in holiday activities
• Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENT

Caregiver Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED
• Minimum age 18
• Computer skills
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Current CPR and First Aid

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand /walk up to eight hours per day
• Must be able to lift/push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift, stand, bend, squat, crawl, reach, and kneel using good body mechanics for sustained periods of time.
• Must possess sight/hearing, or use prosthetics, that is adequate that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
