Job Title: Carrier Capacity and Relationship Manager

Job Overview:

The Carrier Capacity and Relationship Manager will play a critical role in shaping and executing Pinnacle's carrier strategies. This dynamic position is responsible for cultivating robust carrier relationships, optimizing capacity procurement, and ensuring effective collaboration across internal teams. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in revolutionizing how Pinnacle secures and manages carrier capacity, driving success in transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrier Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with carrier partners.
  • Cultivate new carrier partnerships across the nation to align with business growth and strategic objectives.

Contract and Rate Negotiation:

  • Collaborate with internal teams and carriers to negotiate favorable rates, terms, and service agreements.
  • Continuously assess and adjust carrier contracts to reflect market trends, service performance, and cost fluctuations.

Capacity Management:

  • Ensure consistent and reliable carrier capacity to meet the needs of clients, especially during peak periods and unexpected volume surges.
  • Develop proactive contingency plans to address potential capacity challenges and transportation disruptions.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Serve as the key liaison between sales, operations, and account management teams to align strategies and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure seamless communication and alignment across departments to achieve organizational goals.

Market Intelligence & Strategy:

  • Stay informed on carrier feedback, industry trends, and competitive practices to maintain Pinnacle's competitive edge.
  • Analyze market conditions, competitor pricing, and emerging trends to optimize carrier strategies.

Onboarding & Training:

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new carriers, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to internal teams on best practices for carrier setup, auditing, and management.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in carrier procurement, logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven success in building and managing strong, effective relationships with carriers.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, rate analysis, and capacity management.
  • In-depth understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics, and industry best practices.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • A hands-on approach with a willingness to support operational tasks when needed.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across teams.
