The Office of the Chief Information Officer at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks to fill the role of Chief Administrative Officer. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, this role will bring strategic leadership for business and human capital needs for a complex organization of over 320 staff. Candidates who will be successful in this role bring experience managing multi-million dollar budgets, developing human capital strategies in the public sector, and experience managing and leading multiple teams. Successful candidates also have the ability to affect change management, think creatively and with agility, and lead with a strong sense of integrity and ethics while inspiring the same in others. Fully remote work may be possible for this position per the University’s Workplace Flexibility Policy Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.

Master's degree. Seven years experience in a senior leadership role in business, HR, or IT within a higher education or research-intensive environment. Five years experience implementing and managing budgets of more than $6,000,000 in a public sector environment. Five years experience creating and innovating on human capital strategies, processes, and procedures in a public sector environment with more than 60 FTE.

Strong commitment to customer service and operational excellence. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the closing date. The budgeted salary range for this position is $200,000.00 to $215,000.00. Salary is commensurate with experience.
