What you'll do

Technical Functions
- Set up work area and gather cleaning supplies
- Use appropriate equipment necessary to reach the surface to clean (e.g., ladders, step stools, stairs)
- Mix cleaning compounds and solutions
- Handle specialized cleaning solutions
- Alert Crew Chief or supervisor of any parts of aircraft area that may be worn or show signs of corrosion
- Alert Crew Chief or supervisor of any repairs that may be needed (e.g., repairs to cleaning equipment)
- Maneuver oversized airplane parts to complete cleaning tasks by selecting the appropriate lifting device, if applicable
- Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walk
- Clean equipment (e.g., cranes) that has been used to achieve work tasks
- Clean own work area
- Service equipment used in order to keep in working condition
- Ensure forms, records, reports, and other paperwork are completed properly
- Clean aircraft components/parts (e.g., engine, fan blades, gaskets) by using the cleaning process (e.g., blasting, scrubbing, buffing) that is most appropriate given the object to be removed (e.g., dirt, grease)
- Clean and polish automotive and ground equipment
- Clean the exterior of an aircraft (e.g., windshields) using the cleaning process that is most appropriate given the object to be removed
- Clean and/or polish the interior of aircraft
- Clean hangers and related facilities, such as locker rooms
- Clean aircraft windshield
- Wash the interior belly and nacelle areas of the aircraft
- Spray wheel and flap wells with cleaning compound
- Perform cabin service (e.g., arrange magazines and other passenger conveniences in aircraft)
Cleaner Work Conditions
- Perform duties while positioned on the exterior of aircraft (e.g., work on the wing), sometimes from tall heights (e.g., work on the tail)
- Perform work duties wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), sometimes including a respirator
- Access small compartments within the aircraft (e.g., areas under floorboard)
- Stand, bend, lift, pull, and push for extended periods of time
- Perform duties in conditions that are dirty (e.g., dirt, dust, grime)
- Perform duties that require use of personal protective equipment (e.g., wearing respirators while working around fumes and vapors)
- Perform duties that require general safety awareness (e.g., when working in an area with moving vehicles)
- Use non-powered equipment (e.g., brushes, abrasive pads)
- Use powered cleaning equipment, such as a tank agitator, automatic parts washing machine, pressure washers, steam cleaners, and compressed air hose

- Report to position on time, as scheduled, and at assigned station or location, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies
- Complete job-relevant trainings
- Adhere to government regulations (e.g., DOT, FAA, TSA)
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Follow instructions from supervisor or Crew Chief, as applicable
- Coordinate with other employees and stakeholders in order to accomplish work tasks
- Use relevant computer and electronic systems to complete work

All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language or language native to geographical location.
- Applicants must have either successfully completed two years (equivalent) of college or have received a certificate from an acceptable trade/technical school or must have twelve (12) or more months of acceptable experience in a general warehouse or similar type supply function involving receiving, shipping and binning material by parts and serial number.
- Successful completion of all required qualifying tests; including hazardous material handling.
- Read and write legibly to complete forms and/or acknowledge messages, as well as identify Company part numbers, invoice, bill of lading, and shipper numbers, as required.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Use simple arithmetic (Addition and subtraction of six-digit numbers)
- Must have knowledge of and the ability to use basic computer skills.
- Expected to meet all qualifications as designated in the Material Process Specification Manual (MPSM) and satisfactorily demonstrate qualifications by successfully completing the applicable test(s) prior to the expiration of the probationary period.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in any weather conditions in accordance with Company Safety Guidelines.
- Must be willing to work extra hours when there are operational needs, such as weather delays.
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays, and days off.
- Reports to work on a regular and timely basis.
- Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA).
- Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
- This job is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing. Your previous employers will be contacted to verify if you had any DOT drug violations and/or refusals to test for drugs or alcohol in the previous two-year period. Your DOT required urine specimen will be tested for the following substances: Cocaine, Marijuana, PCP, Amphetamines, and Opiates.
