Superintendent – Commercial General Contractor – Houston, TX

A leading Commercial General Contractor in Houston is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee ground-up commercial construction projects. With a strong presence in the K-12, Municipal, Office, and Religious sectors, this company delivers projects ranging from $5M to $45M and is known for its quality builds, long-term client relationships, and collaborative culture.

Candidates with only multi-family or residential experience will not be considered.

Superintendent- Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the full construction lifecycle of ground-up commercial projects from site preparation through to completion.
• Coordinate and manage all on-site activities, including subcontractors, labor crews, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Enforce company and job site safety policies and ensure OSHA compliance at all times.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and manage the project schedule and look-ahead plans.
• Conduct regular site meetings and provide updates on progress, delays, and potential issues.
• Maintain daily logs, site reports, and documentation in line with company procedures.
• Serve as the main point of contact on-site for all trades, inspectors, suppliers, and client representatives.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact timelines, cost, or safety.
• Lead with professionalism, ensuring a productive and positive work environment on-site.

Superintendent- Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Superintendent on ground-up commercial projects within sectors such as K-12, Municipal, Office, or Religious .
• Must be based in Houston and have experience working with local subcontractors and vendors.
• Strong track record of project stability and job tenure — we are looking for professionals who have not frequently changed jobs .
• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, building codes, safety regulations, and inspections.
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and technical documents.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Tech-savvy with experience using construction management software and tools.
