Job Description
Description This position is expected to be a field assignment. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for those that qualify. In this position, you will provide day-to-day construction management, coordination, and monitoring of site contractor work activities.
Ongoing/Special Duties:
- Lead and manage assigned discipline responsible construction engineers.
- Provide construction plan input and evaluation. Monitor construction methods and sequence for compatibility with construction plan requirements.
- Lead contractor performance review and coordination meetings.
- Resolve contractor coordination conflicts in accordance with project schedule and respective contract terms.
- Monitor engineering support to ensure it is responsive to contractor needs.
- Monitor construction work quality, costs, and schedule - report variances, eliminate negative impacts.
- Monitor contractor safety performance.
- Provide on-going communication of project issues, information, safety, and quality topics to contractors.
- Develop and execute a field contractor quality audit and surveillance plan for assigned contracts.
- Support start up testing and Commissioning work requirements in accordance with project schedule.
- Coordinate Commissioning Support Craft Labor with the Contractor and Commissioning Manager.
- Participate in Contractor progress payment validation process.
Qualifications We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. The following skills, experience, and qualifications are required:
- Electrical or Civil/Structural Engineering degree or equivalent years of experience in industrial/power/process electrical equipment, and systems.
- Seven or more years of Construction Management and/or commissioning experience in the power industry and power plant construction, and/or other industrial related industries.
- Willingness to work at project sites and relocate periodically; domestic and international potential.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Project planning skills.
- Leadership and teamwork skills.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish (Read, Speak, and Write).
