Serenity Knolls is one of Northern California’s best residential treatment centers. It’s located in picturesque Forest Knolls, California. Reporting to our experienced Executive Chef the ideal candidate will have experience preparing meals for large groups.

What you’ll be doing:

•Help prepare two meals a day from scratch for our residents.

•Prepare food for residents with special dietary following written recipes

•Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and plated according to recipes, portioning, cooking methods, and serving standards.

•Receive, store, and label products including proteins and other perishable product(s), prepackaged food and drink based on facility needs.

•Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of kitchen and workspaces

•Regularly communicate with teammates and other departments when product is low

•Maintain proper temperature, cooling, storage, and handling of all product

•On a regular basis, clean and sanitize all containers, gloves, and equipment.

•Complete monthly computer and hands-on training.

What we require:

• Must be at least 18 years of age and able to legally work in USA

• 1.5years experience (Prefer) working in kitchens, culinary school, or institutional culinary-related atmosphere.

• Must be able to pass all required pre-hire screening checks including TB test, background clearance pre-employment occupational drug test, and pre-employment physical.

• Excellent attendance and punctuality.

• Ability to demonstrate descent Knife Skills and knowledge of various cuts.

• Upbeat, positive attitude

• Good verbal and written communication/comprehension of English skills and the ability to take direction.

•Familiarity and practice with kitchen SOPs, sanitation and safety practices

•Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and independently.

•Ability to work safely and complete tasks in a timely manner.

• Ability to work unsupervised

• A sense of urgency

• Ability to lift 50Lbs

•Understanding of how to prioritize kitchen tasks to ensure on-time meals.

• Ability to work holidays as needed.
