Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to support import operations involving international air and ocean transportation. This is an entry-level, temp-to-full-time position. Training will be provided, and full-time employment will be offered upon successful evaluation. The ideal candidate is organized, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and interested in international logistics and customs brokerage.

Key Responsibilities for Customs Entry Writer:

• Classify imported commodities, prepare and file customs entries, and resolve clearance issues in coordination with U.S. Customs Brokers (CHB).
• Coordinate with U.S. Customs, FDA, USDA, and other government agencies to ensure compliance with import regulations.
• Obtain, review, and prepare transportation and shipping documentation to meet customs, insurance, and international compliance requirements.
• Liaise with carriers, trucking companies, and third parties to move freight by air, ocean, rail, or road according to customer requirements.
• Arrange urgent and high-value shipments, manage transportation risks, and ensure door-to-door delivery accuracy.
• Process import-related billing and accounting tasks while working closely with customers, internal teams, and third parties to meet deadlines.

Qualifications for Customs Entry Writer

• Entry-level candidates are welcome; training will be provided for qualified individuals.
• Knowledge or strong interest in international air and ocean freight, import logistics, or customs brokerage preferred.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with vendors, customers, customs brokers, and government agencies.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and produce accurate work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.
