Why we open this position?

The Digital Engineer is responsible for the seamless operation, monitoring, and management of video systems for sports events across on-premises and cloud systems. This role collaborates with the internal production team, suppliers, and distribution partners to ensure that each event's video signal is received, processed through mixing components, and successfully delivered while being recorded for archiving. The Digital Engineer ensures flawless execution throughout the process, exceeding client and audience expectations.

🤝 Your responsibilities

Project Management:

• Lead the end-to-end project management for small projects and assist in the planning and execution for medium to large projects. ·
• Engage with stakeholders to gather project requirements, and follow-up during the project implementation in an iterative cycle.
• Manage budgets and people allocation for smaller projects, including managing suppliers, including issuing RFP and RFIs and evaluating the responses.

Project Delivery:

• Ensure the successful delivery of live sports events to a high standard.
• Respond promptly to issues and queries raised by stakeholders. ·
• Communicate effectively with the operations team, including clients and match operators, to address ongoing issues.
• Prepare and deliver post-event reports for clients and the leadership team.

Technical Roadmap and Documentation:

• Contribute to the development and testing of operational tools that enhance efficiency and quality through automation. ·
• Take ownership of operational and technical systems, tools, and processes.

Create and maintain team-specific knowledge base articles and operational training materials.

Teamwork:

• Assist in the onboarding, training, and development of new team members.

Travel & Work Schedule:

• Be available to work flexible hours based on the event schedule. ·
• Have the flexibility to travel for scheduled events.

Is it really for me ?

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS. ·
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and debugging technical systems. ·
• Background in development or technical support. ·
• Competency in scripting with modern programming languages, especially Python. ·
• Practical experience in live production environments, including exposure to video encoding, production tooling, and contribution streaming protocols (e.g., SRT). ·
• Able to work with suppliers to report and follow-up on issues ·
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
