Job Description

The Director of Home Health is responsible for the overall direction of home health clinical services. This leader establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for home health services that meet and promote high standards of quality and align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. (Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.)

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all patient services provided by clinical personnel; guide and counsel Clinical Managers and coordinators to continually improve care delivery and team performance.
• Assist with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family/caregiver care, while supporting Clinical Managers in supervision, staffing, and planning.
• Partner with leadership in budget preparation, administration, and interpretation of operational indicators to anticipate census changes and staffing/revenue impacts.
• Recruit, hire, evaluate, and, when necessary, terminate staff; conduct performance reviews for clinicians and support development of supervisory skills for managers.
• Maintain patient clinical records and reports, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws as well as accreditation standards; oversee inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Develop and evaluate orientation programs for new personnel; plan in-service and continuing education programs to meet training needs.
• Lead performance evaluation and improvement initiatives, including quality, safety, productivity, and annual reviews.
• Ensure safe, high-quality delivery of home health services, while developing and administering organizational policies and procedures.
• Stay informed of changes in home health care practices and regulations; promote home health referrals in the healthcare community.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse, licensed in California.
• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of five years of successful management experience in mid-size or larger home health or related healthcare organizations.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification.
• Licensed driver with insured automobile.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills, with the ability to market services and engage tactfully with clients and the community.
• Knowledge of business management, governmental regulation, and Joint Commission accreditation standards.
• Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfort with electronic medical records systems.

Compensation:

• $175,000
