Job Description

An international automotive parts manufacturing corporation is searching for a EHS Manager to do a variety of work to support safety programs for the plant operation. The ideal candidate has experience with developing and implementing programs and practices regarding worker’s compensation, federal/stats regulations, safety training etc.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the implementation and refinement of Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives and policies in order to ensure safe working conditions and sound environmental practices
• Maintain Environmental Management System (EMS) according to ISO 14001 standards
• Communicate, partner, and discuss with Operations Management all performance objectives and compliance issues as needed
• Coordinate with relevant agencies and departments on development and status of environmental targets and objectives
• Guide Operation pollution prevention and waste minimization efforts in order to reduce the overall cost of facility waste management
• Effectively communicate the status of projects, and summarize activities for compliance reports
• Provide guidance to operations for achievement of overall facility compliance

BACKGROUND

• Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), or an equivalent field
• Must have knowledge of regulations per EPA, OSHA, DOT, and others
• Prefer at least 2 years of experience in Environmental Management and Compliance in the manufacturing sector
• Must have knowledge of hazardous materials and emergency response procedures
• Ability to communicate fluently in both written and verbal English
