Responsibilities:
Project Estimating
· Review drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and requirements.
· Prepare detailed quantity take-offs, material and labor estimates, and cost summaries.
· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
· Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
· Prepare bid packages, proposals, and cost breakdowns for management review and client submission.
· Maintain a historical database of estimates, pricing, and project results for future reference.
Collaboration & Communication
· Coordinate with the President to confirm project scope, goals, and bidding strategy.
· Communicate regularly with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to clarify scope and gather pricing.
· Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews when required.
· Provide estimating support during project execution, including scope changes or cost clarifications.
Administrative & Reporting
· Ensure all estimate documents and revisions are properly filed and accessible.
· Track bids, deadlines, and results to maintain an organized estimating pipeline.
· Support management in strategic planning by analyzing market trends and cost data.
Communication & Coordination
· Serve as a liaison between the field team, office staff, and management.
· Relay important updates or requests from the field to the appropriate department.
· Ensure consistent follow-up on project timelines and action items.
· Attend project or safety meetings and take detailed meeting notes when requested.
Skills & Qualifications:
· 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction (commercial or industrial preferred).
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.
· Proficiency with estimating software, digital takeoff tools, and Microsoft Excel.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
· Excellent analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
· Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines.
