Job Description

The Regional Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager's primary function is to assist and ensure Safety and Environmental compliance with all Federal, State, local and company standards at the scrap yards within their region.

Job Duties of the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager:

• Encourage all personnel to be safe and healthy.
• Able to take direction and follow through on completing tasks within the requested time frame.
• Conduct Monthly Environmental and Safety audits to ensure compliance or note deficiencies so corrective actions can be put in place.
• Assist in reviewing corrective actions to ensure all reports are accurate, completed and closed within a timely manner, giving guidance as needed.
• Ensure waste collection is within the appropriate time frame and assist in coordinating pick up.
• Review records of Stormwater inspections, Waste shipments, Manifest and bill of lading, appliance logs, etc. to ensure compliance.

Qualifications of the Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager

• Must pass a background check and credit check.
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) required
• An understanding of the OSHA regulations well enough to interpret, inspect, and train all company personnel.
• Possess interpersonal skills to gain support of workforce and clientele when conducting business.
• Completed course work and Certifications that follow OSHA, Air and Environmental regulations preferred.
