Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our preconstruction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial interior construction and a sharp eye for reading plans, performing take-offs, and assembling competitive, accurate bids. This role is critical to our continued success in winning projects and delivering value to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare detailed estimates and bids
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs (metal stud framing, drywall, ceilings, carpentry, etc.) using digital estimating tools
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Develop detailed pricing and proposals for private and public sector projects
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients during bid preparation and value engineering
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits
• Maintain a database of historical pricing, subcontractor contacts, and unit costs
• Track awarded and lost bids, providing feedback for continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in commercial interior construction
• Strong knowledge of trades such as metal stud framing, drywall, ACT, rough/finish carpentry, and interior scopes
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift, Bluebeam)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and addenda
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical mindset
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred but not required
• Local to the Philadelphia area or willing to relocate
