Founded in 1983, the mission of the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts is to provide Alamogordo, Otero, and Lincoln Counties with a performing arts center showcasing world-class entertainment and local talent, and to actively engage students in the arts. Housed in a historic 1950s movie theater, this dynamic nonprofit welcomes over 40,000 guests annually to its 600-seat venue. Its diverse programming includes a Premier Series that draws 10,000 attendees, as well as educational outreach that impacts 6,000+ students each year. The Center also partners with local groups on productions, nurtures emerging youth talent, and offers community event space for special events.
The Executive Director of the Flickinger Center serves as its chief executive, providing strategic leadership and overseeing operations. This role demands a visionary and hands-on leader who will champion the arts, cultivate community relationships, ensure financial stability, and promote the Center's mission. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and sociable individual with a proven track record in fundraising and grant writing, excellent communication skills, including public speaking, and a deep understanding of how a performing arts center can meet community needs. This position reports to the Board of Directors and offers a salary range of $66,000 - $77,000 annually.
