The Finance Manager will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the leadership team to provide financial insights, optimize resource usage, and implement strategies to achieve long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute financial strategies that align with Object Construction’s business objectives, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process, establish financial targets, and perform forecasting and variance analysis to adjust plans as needed.
Project Budgeting & Auditing:
Conduct regular audits of project budgets to monitor expenses, track variances, and ensure adherence to financial targets. Provide corrective actions when necessary to maintain profitability.
Real-Time Financial Monitoring:
Implement real-time tracking systems to monitor the financial performance of projects, offering timely insights to project teams and senior leadership.
Cost Management:
Oversee job costing, material, and labor cost processes, ensuring accurate pricing strategies. Negotiate with vendors, manage inventory, and identify cost-saving opportunities across materials like wood, metal, paint, and tools.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide recommendations based on financial performance and risk analysis to the executive team.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP. Implement internal controls and conduct audits to manage financial risks.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development.
Operational Efficiency:
Collaborate closely with the operations team to monitor production costs, inventory, and labor efficiency. Implement financial systems that support lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
Vendor & Client Relations:
Manage relationships with vendors, clients, and financial institutions to ensure favorable terms and optimize cash flow.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in finance, ideally within the scenic fabrication or manufacturing industry. Strong expertise in job costing, material management, and labor cost analysis.
Skills:
Certifications:
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
Location:
This position is based in East Los Angeles, CA, with a hybrid work schedule that includes three days onsite.
