Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee a fleet of drivers, tractors, trailers, and related assets, including their operations, conditions, external and internal policy compliance, and overall performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing their fleet to ensure efficient operations, safety compliance, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can coordinate maintenance schedules, monitor vehicle performance, and implement best practices for fleet management. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of transportation logistics and fleet management software, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including drivers, management, and regulatory agencies. As a Fleet Manager , your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing strategies to maximize the mileage for each driver within your fleet.
• Developing and nurturing optimal relationships with drivers.
• Coordinating and liaising with Operations representatives and Planners to establish and uphold driver relationships, mileage, and objectives
• Effectively communicating with drivers regarding time-off requests, macros, trailer numbers, and other relevant information through McLeod or the TMS.
• Addressing driver-related concerns promptly and efficiently.
• Maintaining a respectful demeanor when interacting with drivers, customers, or colleagues.
• Ensuring data integrity when inputting information, such as PTAs, into our systems.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Fleet Manager within the transportation and logistics sector
• A strong commitment to diligent work and self-initiative
• Excellent negotiation abilities coupled with conflict resolution skills
• Proficient in effectively utilizing new technologies
• Capable of synthesizing analytical data and sales information
