Job Description

Jet Container in Columbus, Ohio has an opening for a Forklift Driver. This position is responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of trailers, minimizing lot and or dock area congestion, locating corrugated stock in warehouse, trailer, and on production floor and deliver to designated location and providing accurate information of loaded/unloaded materials as well as materials used or produced to warehouse personnel.

SALARY RANGE : Starting at $18/ hr

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
Full-time, first shift – Monday through Friday, 6:00 am – 4:00 pm

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Operate and care for a forklift in a safe manner
• Responsible for the efficient loading and unloading of trailers, minimizing lot and or dock area congestion
• Locate corrugated stock in warehouse, trailer, and on production floor and deliver to appropriate machine, trailer, or warehouse location
• Provide accurate information of loaded/unloaded materials as well as materials used or produced to warehouse personnel
• Follow established forklift procedures and complete required safety and maintenance checklists
• Other general labor or warehouse duties as assigned
• Occasional prolonged sitting while operating a propane, sit-down forklift
• Prolonged standing and repetitive motion, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling
• Requires maneuvering up to 100 pounds of material

BASIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Must have valid driver’s license
• Good math skills
• Timely and regular attendance
• Adhere to all safety standards and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED
• One or more years of experience operating a forklift
• Previous experience utilizing a scanner, tablet and computer
• Previous experience in the corrugated industry preferred, but not required
• Experience with Kiwi a plus, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, carry items from one building to another, and speak and actively listen. Noise level is usually moderate. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a warehouse/production environment.
