Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Bradenton, FL (Onsite)

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $90,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year

PHENNX.IO is a burgeoning HealthTech startup focused on changing the game in pharmaceutical clinical trials by offering a new type of clinical trial management software system for clinical sites. Standing behind Phennx is a team with over 200 years of combined experience in clinical trials. We’re looking for innovative minds to join our team and contribute to shaping the future of technology in clinical trials.

Position Overview:

As one of our early software engineers, you’ll have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and culture. You will work directly with the CTO and product teams to design, build, and scale our software solutions. This position is full-time/onsite at our office in Bradenton/Sarasota, FL.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Django

• Build responsive, performant frontend interfaces with React/TypeScript

• Work with containerized environments and deployment pipelines

• Contribute to database architecture and optimization

• Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows and tests

• Collaborate with product management and design teams to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements.

• Lead code reviews, maintain high coding standards, and build resilient architectures.

• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support through your expertise.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose adaptations for the current systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.

• 3+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering.

• Proven experience in scalable systems, open-source technologies, and cloud environments.

• Demonstrated experience with Python and Django, React and TypeScript

• Docker and containerization expertise

• Database design and management skills (SQL)

• Understanding of asynchronous message queue systems (e.g. RabbitMQ)

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Testing frameworks (including e2e testing e.g. Cypress)

• Strong understanding of the full software development life cycle.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and Strong interpersonal and patient service skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS cloud services experience

• Celery or similar task queue frameworks

• Nginx/deployment configuration

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, give oral instructions, listen and hear instructions. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at the computer. This position requires good vision, including close vision.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a clinical research environment and comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
