Job Title: ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead

Employment Type: Contract

Location: Austin, TX (Local candidates only – this role requires onsite presence 5 days/week)

Position Overview:

Our client in Austin, Texas, is seeking an experienced ArcGIS Geospatial Architect & Governance Lead to support enterprise data analytics initiatives related to Medicaid and CHIP client and provider data.

This is a senior-level, hands-on technical leadership role focused on the architecture, integration, and governance of enterprise GIS solutions using Esri ArcGIS technologies. You will lead solution design and ensure alignment with data policies and organizational goals in the healthcare and public service space.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Public Health, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 7+ years of GIS experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or architect role.
• 5+ years working with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases .
• 5+ years using Python and SQL , including writing advanced scripts, functions, and procedures.
• Expert in Esri ArcGIS , including ArcGIS Pro Advanced, geospatial database management, geocoding, network analyst toolbox, and web mapping application development.
• Experience in agile/scrum environments .
• Strong background in geospatial data governance , policy development, metadata standards, and data quality assurance.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Effective project and time management with the ability to handle multiple initiatives independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Medicaid, public health, or social services data and systems.
• GIS Certifications such as:
• Esri Enterprise System Design Professional
• Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional
• GISP
• Experience using:
• GeoAI , LLMs, or machine learning for geospatial analytics
• Snowflake Data Warehouses for ArcGIS integration
• Custom web-based GIS application interfaces
