Salary
The hourly wage for this position traditionally starts at $16.24 per hour for current undergraduate students and $17.24 per hour for those who have an earned bachelor’s degree.
About the Governor's Summer Internship:
The summer internship program provides participants the opportunity to work with state agency officials, as well as participate in co-curricular components to enrich their experiences. Interns spend at least 50 percent of their time on predetermined projects that enhance college-level skills and abilities. The CHE Financial Aid Intern will work primarily as a member of the Postsecondary Transitions team supporting the implementation of the 21st Century Scholars program and increasing FAFSA filing for high school seniors and postsecondary students. You will report to the Director for Postsecondary Program Implementation. There are three pillars guiding the CHE HOPE Agenda – college enrollment, college completion, and college graduate retention – and the 21st Century Scholars programs and FAFSA filing address all three.
The intern will collaborate internally with the K-12 Outreach, State Financial Aid, Marketing and Communications, and Public Policy teams, and externally with K-12 and higher education partners. Following the 2023 legislative session, CHE will automatically enroll all eligible students into the 21st Century Scholars program for which high school seniors are required to submit the FAFSA. The intern will assist with increasing eligible students’ engagement in the 21st Century Scholars program and FAFSA filing to increase college-going, utilization of state financial aid, and college completion.
