Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including evaluating performance, recognizing achievements, and addressing concerns.
  • Plan and price menus, establish portion sizes, and maintain service standards.
  • Deliver prompt, friendly, and courteous food and beverage service to all guests.
  • Exhibit hospitable and professional behavior with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality food production standards for all menu items.
  • Ensure all work areas, utensils, and equipment are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce all food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Schedule and manage kitchen staff based on business needs and budget constraints.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate submission to the payroll department.
  • Control food costs by managing inventory, purchasing specifications, and waste control procedures.
  • Train staff on the safe operation of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Handle guest feedback, resolving concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment for all team members.
  • Execute all responsibilities of a Sous Chef as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in food preparation of a fine dining restaurant in a kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures; must obtain ServSafe certification within 120 days of employment.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle guest and staff concerns diplomatically.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be responsive to visual and auditory cues in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Regular bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching
  • Ability to push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently
