Escort Driver – Part Time

Job Overview:

The primary function of the Escort Driver is to operate an escort vehicle safely. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Towing Manager.

Primary Job Duties:

• Able to operate all vehicles assigned. 
• Load fuel as instructed at designed location using fuel gun/nozzle.
• Responsible for general maintenance of truck, including but not limited to: checking oil and fuel levels.
• Complete all “pre-trip” requirements before each truck run and “post-trip” requirement at the end of each shift. 
• Inform dispatch and safety of any DOT fines, citations or any other relevant issues.
• Able to operate an escort vehicle safely.
• Know and abide by the rules of the escorting a load.
• Understand how to operate the equipment on an escort vehicle:          
  • Height Pole
  • Height Stick
  • Oversize Sign(s)
• Communicate with the driver and customer.
• Have the correct PPE when on a job site.
• Assist the driver at the job site if and when needed.
• Communicate with Dispatch in regard to any potential customer issues such as; complaints, spills, leaks, incidents, accidents, injuries and vehicle issues.
• Communicate with Maintenance in regard to any vehicle issues or needs and report any issues immediately.
• May drive in hazardous conditions, including inclement weather, tight quarters, and inner-city locations.
• Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels. 

Qualifications/Experience/Education:

• At least 18 years or older, high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Able to pass pre-employment 7-year criminal background check.
