GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, Home & Community, supervise assigned staff and provide high quality therapeutic rehabilitative support services for youth and adults with autism, developmental disabilities, emotional disorders, mental health disorders and behavioral challenges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative
- Ensure maintenance of all electronic medical records and HRIS
- Responsible for monthly data and outcome reporting
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding deliverables aligned with performance benchmarks
- Provide administrative support as needed to include tertiary cross-departmental coverage in emergency situations.
Client Service Implementation and Management
- Lead and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and complete client's evaluation and assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning for each client served within the time limit in accordance with policy.
- Provide direct care, training and supervision to the client/families served as prescribed in the individual treatment/rehabilitation plan and in accordance to company policy.
- Adheres to BSF's policies and procedures, code of ethics and ensures program compliance with COMAR, and CARF regulations.
- Be familiar with each client's goals, objectives, and methods for achieving these goals and objectives.
- Promote special and individual events for the clients served (community outings, cultural celebrations, etc.)
- Assist and encourage the clients served in developing self-reliance and independence in their day to day lives.
- Be continuously ready to assist clients served in areas of need, and address client questions and concerns.
- Must assist with restraint of clients served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault crisis/crisis prevention training.
- Collaborate with direct care staff to plan, facilitate, and foster growth of assigned program services at all service locations
- Responsible for quality assurance in the service delivery including clinical care and documentation
- Works collaboratively with department leadership and stakeholders to promote efficient and effective functioning of the program.
- Participate in or lead initiatives to promote and grow Autism and Related Services.
Staff Performance Management
- Supervises assigned staff, including providing coaching, training, supervision, and disciplinary actions in accordance with accountability and progressive discipline policy
- Monitor, review and approve staff clinical documentation, staff time cards in HRIS, and client service utilization on a daily basis
- Implement BSF and program policies and procedures, ensuring staffing and scheduling is aligned with job expectations and regulations.
- Complete and ensure 100% of employees on assigned caseload are in compliance with performance review.
- Create a positive work environment in which staff are empowered, respected, and valued, to fulfill their role conducting the agency mission, vision, and values.
- Promote growth of behavioral health staff in areas of leadership, clinical excellence, client centered care, education, and organizational involvement to meet the identified goals and needs of the employee and organization.
- Inspire trust, collaboration, and integrity by building positive relationships with program staff.
- Monitor, support, and provide hands-on and instructional training to staff in their practice management to meet the expectations of quality client services.
- Fulfill the roles and responsibilities of assigned direct reports, during a time of turnover, direct report's inability to meet expectations, or as needed
- Works closely with direct care staff to address day to day client issues, ensure solid onboarding and support other areas falling under the scope of the direct care staff.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE AND NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, or a related field of study with five (5) years of related experience or
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education, or a related field of study with five (3) years of related experience or
- Two (2) years' experience including supervision of direct care staff in a positive and productive manner.
- Clean driving record with no more than two (2) points.
- Must have a satisfactory CJIS report.
