Job Description
Position:
Work with shipping services along with our vendors and our distribution network on issues such as freight forwarding, duties and customs clearance, and strict management of their cost.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, track, and record movement of goods from point of origin to delivery
- Coordinate with brokers to ensure timely customs clearance
- Give correct classifications of goods for customs release to the broker
- Prepare, analyze, and/or submit documentation to the appropriate regulatory agencies to ensure accordance with all applicable customs laws and regulations
- Verify accuracy of commercial documentation and charges
- Collaborate with other service providers (overseas offices, airlines, freight forwarding and trucking companies) to solve shipment issues
- Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed
- Follow-up on customs matters and resolve problems
- Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation
- Check and approve or dispute freight invoices in accordance with our agreements signed with our freight forwarder
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with freight forwarders required
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to use multiple systems and reference material
- Ability to handle high volume of work
- Ability to handle time-sensitive work
- Ability to handle confidential work
- Ability to solve complex problems with tact and calmness
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Interpersonal skills
- Extremely organized
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of customs regulations and/or harmonized tariff schedules
- Knowledge of US Customs and Border Protection
- Knowledge of US Fish and Wildlife Service Requirements
- Experience with or knowledge of shipping companies, particularly Ferrari Group, Geodis, Parcel Pro, Omega Shipping, Bali Express Services, FedEx, UPS, etc.
