Job Title: Junior Editor

Location: Princeton, NJ (with occasional work in NYC)

Job Type: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week (potential for increased hours)

Compensation: $22 - $25 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Our client, a dynamic and innovative media company based in Princeton, NJ, is seeking a talented and passionate Junior Editor to support their editorial team. They specialize in producing high-quality documentaries, client projects, and creative media content. Position Overview:

As a Junior Editor, you will play an essential role in organizing and editing content for a variety of media projects. You will assist with post-production on documentary films, client work, and other creative projects. The role requires strong proficiency in editing software, a keen understanding of film structure, and the ability to contribute creatively to the editing process. Under the guidance of the Producer/Director, you will work closely with the team to ensure that all content maintains a high standard of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and editing footage for documentary projects, client work, and other creative endeavors.
• Collaborate closely with the director and senior editors to ensure the vision and storytelling are executed effectively.
• Help maintain consistency in style, pacing, and tone across all edits.
• Follow scripts and outlines, while contributing creative ideas and suggestions to enhance the content.
• Edit footage with strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality output and maintaining a high standard of storytelling.
• Ensure the edited content is optimized for various platforms, including social media.
• Assist with additional editorial tasks as needed.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, etc.).
• Strong understanding of film structure and editing techniques.
• Excellent pacing, storytelling, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a creative team environment.
• A passion for creative storytelling, with an eye for detail.
• Experience with AI creation tools and uploading videos to social media platforms is a plus.
• A strong sense of comedy, drama, or documentary storytelling is highly desirable.
• 3-7 years of relevant experience in video editing (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
