Position Details:

Location: Clearwater, FL (Primarily remote with on-site meetings on occasions)

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Shift Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Weekend Work: Occasional

The Inpatient Coding Manager is responsible for:

• The over-sight and management for a multi-facility coding team.
• Have experience in correlating coding accuracy and documentation appropriateness to resolve coding issues and to present information on going (i.e., case mix, DRG analysis, physician and nursing education, coding seminars).
• Performs annual evaluations for the Coding Supervisors and Coding Coordinators.
• Responsible to establish the BayCare Coding capital and operations budgets.
• Responsible to meet or beat budgets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education requirements:

• Required - High School or Equivalent; Preferred - Associates - Related Field

Credential equivalent experience:

• Required - CCS (Coding); Required - Driver's License - State of Florida; Preferred - RHIT (Health Information)

Experience requirements:

• Required - 5 years of Management experience
• The position requires excellent critical thinking skills, excellent presentation skills, and knowledge of MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, SOI/ROM, Official Coding Guidelines, Coding Clinics, and a broad-based and thorough understanding of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10-PCS correct coding.
• The position requires a high degree of collaboration with clinicians, health care providers, Revenue Cycle and Clinical Documentation Integrity Departments.
