Job Description

Position: Licensed Massage Therapist (hiring for multiple contractors for either PRN or part-time work)

Type: Part-time or PRN, part-time would be 15-20 hours/week, although this could vary depending on demand. PRN contractor would be needed primarily on occasional weekends and evenings for events. This position could lead to a full-time position over a short period of time for the right candidate

Experience:

1-2 years of professional experience and practice preferred (however, practicum students and those in training are also encouraged to apply!) Training is provided on our protocols and techniques. This is a great opportunity to expand knowledge of holistic practices and 5-NP acupressure.

Job Summary:

Tip It Forward is a dynamic and quickly growing nonprofit seeking a licensed massage therapist to provide trauma-informed therapeutic bodywork and holistic wellness education at community events and via our mobile wellness clinic. This position requires that you have an interest in being an integral part of a team-oriented innovative care model that increases access to therapeutic services for under-resourced individuals that face health challenges, chronic pain, and current and past trauma. The ideal candidate has knowledge of myofascial release, possesses a willingness to learn new methods, and is committed to making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  • Professional Care: Optimizes the abilities and skills of patients by engaging in activities across the full spectrum of care.
  • Initiate referrals for appropriate patients and effectively assess treatment by participating in the care planning process.
  • Treat patients with kind and transparent communication in all interactions.
  • Teach techniques for healing and recovery in alignment with Tip It Forward training and protocols.
  • Appropriately document progress toward identified goals and communicate patient status and needs to the patient, the patient’s family, staff, and other professionals as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed with keen attention to detail, including pre and post paperwork, signed informed consent, and all other regulatory forms.
  • Document participant condition and treatment progress following each treatment, including self-care recommendations.
  • Provide safe and ethical care to participants based on medical history and assessment while adhering to the Tip It Forward standards and protocols.
  • Maintain and respect the privacy and confidentiality of our participants’ personal information.
  • Maintain a sanitized and clean treatment area and mobile clinic.

Community Outreach:

  • Participate in community outreach and educational events with community partners.
  • Educate the public on the value of trauma informed care and the benefits of holistic practice.
  • Build relationships with the community, businesses, and organizations to promote Tip It Forward and potential partnerships.
  • Forward the mission of Tip It Forward and have the ability to speak to anyone about becoming an ally and friend of the organization.
  • Training and Participation: Maintain consistent connection to other professionals on the team.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and stay current with all trainings.
  • Ensure you are up to date on communication and events pertaining to Tip It Forward.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Massage therapist in good standing with applicable Kentucky State Licensing Board/s
  • Proof of valid liability/malpractice insurance & proof of licensure
  • Dedication to serving the public and increasing health equity
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people and build strong relationships to expand the reach of Tip It Forward
  • Attention to detail and time is essential
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish, modestly preferred
  • Understand that the job may require reaching, bending, twisting; pulling, moving, lifting, or carrying objects weighing up to 25lbs; standing, sitting, or walking for up to 8 hours
