Mechanical Project Manager

Highland Consulting Group, a national executive search firm specializing in construction recruitment, is partnering with a well-established Mechanical Contractor in the Rochester, NY area to find an experienced Mechanical Project Manager .

This permanent, on-site position offers stability with little to no travel and is ideal for a detail-oriented leader with 5+ years of experience managing commercial and industrial mechanical piping, plumbing, and sheet metal projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all project phases, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.
• Develop and manage project schedules.
• Estimate, negotiate, and track change orders.
• Manage project budgets and approve expenses.
• Handle contract administration and subcontractor/equipment buyouts.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners.
• Maintain detailed project records and closeout documentation.
• Conduct punch-list inspections with the superintendent and owner representatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with past clients for repeat business.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Project Manager handling projects $3M+.
• Expertise in new build and retrofit projects.
• Strong background in commercial and industrial mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to establish timelines, manage budgets, and negotiate change orders.
• Exceptional multi-tasking and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead productive, multi-discipline meetings.
• A stable, verifiable record of project management success.
• Strong understanding of project financials.
