KIPP Massachusetts currently operates two public charter districts:

  • Lynn District : KIPP Academy Lynn Elementary (K–4), Middle (5–8), and Collegiate (9–12)

  • Boston District : KIPP Academy Boston (K–8)

We serve over 2,200 students and are supported by a Regional Office that leads Teaching and Learning, Talent, and Operations.

Job Description

Lead Teacher – KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School

KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is seeking talented, committed, and culturally competent Lead Teachers who can amplify student potential by creating school experiences that affirm, value, and challenge students every day. We foster a joyful and excellent professional environment where long-term transformative outcomes are possible.

Key Responsibilities

Classroom Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead instruction; may include independent teaching, co-teaching, or coverage roles
  • Affirm and challenge all students daily
  • Build a safe and positive learning environment
  • Internalize and deliver rigorous, engaging lessons using provided curricula and tools
  • When needed, create academically aligned lessons, rubrics, and assessments
  • Set ambitious growth goals for all students and work toward them intentionally
  • Use best practices to deliver differentiated, equitable instruction
  • Implement student culture systems and proactive behavior supports
  • Analyze student data and work to adjust instruction accordingly
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to families

School and Professional Responsibilities

  • Obtain MTEL and SEI endorsements within the first year (financial and study support provided)
  • Participate in all school-wide PD and pre-service training
  • Engage in coaching and feedback to continuously improve your practice
  • Contribute to operational duties (hallway transitions, lunch, dismissal, etc.)
  • Build strong family relationships through events, calls, texts, and emails
  • Collaborate with teammates to share responsibility for all students
  • Maintain reliable attendance and communicate proactively about challenges

Qualifications

  • Strong instructional content knowledge
  • Minimum 2 years of full-time teaching experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must pass Criminal Background Check

Additional Information: What We Offer

The minimum base salary for this exempt position is $55,000 to $89,500 (per 1.0 FTE/45 hours per week), based on relevant years of experience after your Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degrees add:

  • +$3,000 for first advanced degree
  • +$1,500 for second advanced degree

Bonuses include:

  • $1,000 signing bonus
  • $2,000 annual retention bonus (after Year 1)
  • Other performance-based bonuses, when eligible
