Job Description

Job Overview: The Oncology Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Oncology Director of Pharmacy in managing the pharmacy operations. This includes the development, implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, inventory management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The Oncology Operations Managers will also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable.
Qualifications: Required :

  • B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required.
Preferred :
  • Prior pharmacy management experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of hospital Oncology Pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of ambulatory or hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one to two (1 to 2) years of staff management experience is strongly preferred.
Certifications and Licenses Required:
  • An active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate NJ Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist BCOP required.
Essential Functions:
  • Provides oversight of staff schedules.
  • Responsible for writing the pharmacist's schedule and corresponding time cards.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of pharmacy operations.
  • Ensures daily operations and distributive processes are effective and safe.
  • Responsible for the development and review of pharmacy policies and procedures and education to Pharmacy staff of policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Pharmacy Director to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all controlled substance diversion prevention and monitoring standards.
  • Participates in controlled substance reviews and all inventory audits.
  • Develops and participates in training for pharmacists and residents.
  • Develops and documents staff competency on an ongoing basis and develops improvement plans when deficiencies are identified.
  • Participates in the management of day to day patient needs, should staffing require it.
