Packaging Engineer & Consultant

About the Role

Atlantic is expanding its MUST Quality Control team. The MUST team ensures that the 75 million customer loads we monitor and manage are wrapped to the correct standard. As the program grows exponentially, you’ll have the opportunity to grow with it — supported by seasoned experts in sales, engineering, and technical service.

Your day-to-day will involve traveling to client plants across North America to perform audits, optimizations, technical service, and monitoring of stretch film application processes. About the MUST Stretch Management System

MUST is the most sustainable and efficient stretch film application management system in the industry. It provides customers with real-time data to ensure every load is wrapped to the correct standard — every time.

When loads are consistently wrapped to the correct standard businesses use less film, virtually eliminate load damage, save money, and improve efficiency. In 2024, Atlantic’s MUST Monitoring System eliminated over 37 million pounds of plastic from the environment and saved customers $70 million.

Responsibilities

• Help businesses improve their stretch wrapping programs to save time and money while increasing productivity
• Perform detailed inspections of machines, films, and processes while auditing stretch film application programs
• Provide technical service support and training to help customers maintain established standards
• Develop strong relationships with operators and plant personnel, setting goals and expectations for improvement
• Optimize stretch wrapping programs for some of the world’s largest consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands
• Provide in-plant training to ensure quality across unique stretch wrapping programs
• Use MUST monitoring software to ensure every load is wrapped to the correct standard
• Provide actionable information and timely assistance to increase performance, prevent damage, reduce costs, and support sustainability
• Establish regular meetings to review plans, progress, and results
• Be available for extensive travel to facilities across the U.S. and Canada

Skills & Experience

• Five or more years of experience in a technical service role
• Experience with automatic and semi-automatic stretch wrapping equipment
• Passion for teaching and helping others
• Strong work ethic and analytical problem-solving skills
• Excellent networking and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
