Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting student success and making a difference in education? Our public charter school is seeking a dedicated Associate Teacher to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting classroom instruction, assisting students in both in-person and virtual learning environments, and collaborating with teachers to ensure every student has the tools they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support student learning and classroom management in partnership with the Distance Learning Teacher.
  • Assist students in virtual and blended learning environments.
  • Collaborate weekly with Distance Learning Teachers to ensure seamless instruction delivery.
  • Take daily attendance in compliance with TEA student attendance accounting procedures.
  • Provide accommodations and individualized support to students as needed.
  • Assist students with instructional technology and troubleshoot common issues.
  • Train students in the use of educational platforms and tools.
  • Complete required documentation and maintain confidentiality in all student matters.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors to support campus operations.

Qualifications

  • Must meet the federal Highly Qualified (HQ) requirement through one of the following, or be able to obtain HQ status within the first year:
  • Associate’s degree,
  • At least 48 semester hours of college coursework, or
  • Passing score on a locally approved assessment.
  • Must be highly qualified as an Instructional Assistant per Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff, administrators, and families.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for instructional support and classroom responsibilities.
  • Comfortable using instructional technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Flexible, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • A positive outlook and sense of humor are a must!
