CONTRACT TO HIRE | ONSITE– S.E. SAN ANTONIO, TX | $24-26/HR

Imprimis Group has partnered with a growing manufacturing client in Southeast San Antonio who is hiring a Payroll Clerk. The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll using Paylocity. This role plays a key part in ensuring payroll compliance, maintaining payroll records, and supporting the Controller with reporting and reconciliation tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in using Paylocity to manage payroll functions.

Job Functions (not limited to):

  • Process all employee payrolls (bi-weekly/weekly/monthly, as applicable) through Paylocity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and verify timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with managers and supervisors.
  • Maintain and update employee records in Paylocity, including new hires, terminations, pay changes, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports, earnings statements, and summaries for review by the Controller.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and company policies.
  • Address employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and timekeeping issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end tax documents including W-2s and 1099s via Paylocity.
  • Coordinate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate benefit and deduction processing.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all payroll-related information.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required payroll data and documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years minimum experience in full cycle payroll experience with direct Paylocity processing required.
  • Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment including exempt & nonexempt processing, previous experience with pay cycle change implementation.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and standard payroll practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel and familiarity with Paylocity’s reporting and timekeeping modules .
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
