Pride Health is actively hiring Pharmacy Technician based in Austin TX for a contract of 3+ months with possibility of extension

Work Schedule: The candidate will be working between 6:30 AM - 11:30 PM / Variable 8 Hr. Shift / Variable Weekends Rotation

Pay Range: $20/hr. - $23/hr. (*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials. )

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation, repackaging, compounding, filling, and delivery of medications. The role involves performing tasks related to dispensing medications in a manner appropriate for patients of all ages (0-adult). Additionally, the Pharmacist will assist in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of controlled substances.

Responsibilities:

• Medication Preparation and Dispensing:
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of medications.
• Repackage and compound medications following established protocols.
• Ensure accuracy in dispensing medications as verified by the supervising pharmacist.
• Patient Information Management:
• Enter patient’s diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area in the computer to ensure appropriate medication dosing.
• Aseptic Technique and Infection Control:
• Follow aseptic techniques in the preparation of sterile products.
• Complete annual recertification, achieving at least 90% on skills and written exams.
• Ensure all staff adheres to aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
• Controlled Substances Management:
• Assist in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of controlled substances.
• Stock Management:
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Support Services to maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Follow procedures for stock replacement and nonformulary items.
• Quality Assurance:
• Obtain pharmacist initial/final checks.
• Assign dilution and expiration dating labels according to department standards.
• Demonstrate competence in batch/medication/prescription order entry.

Skills:

• Knowledge of current hospital and departmental standards for pharmaceutical handling.
• Proficiency in math, reading, and communication.
• Ability to operate equipment used in the preparation of sterile products.

Education:

• Required:
• RPHT-TX (Registered Pharmacy Technician - Texas State Board of Pharmacy) or PHAR INT (Pharmacy Intern - State Board of Pharmacy).
• IV Certification Required
