Position Summary

 

The pilot in command for the Gulfstream GV reports to the lead captain regarding company operating policies and procedures. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of flight assignments, with a strong emphasis on safety, security, and quality. The pilot in command will exercise authority over all assigned flights and is the final authority for the safe conduct of the flight.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

· Must possess Airline Transport Pilot Certificate w/ Gulfstream GV Type Rating.

· Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical.

· 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing.

· 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land.

· 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command.

· 1,500 hours Turbojet.

· 1,500 Turbine time.

· 100 hours Night.

· 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument.

· 5 years of aviation experience.

· Must be able to work flexible schedules.

· Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.

· Must have a valid driver's license.

 

Main Responsibilities

 

· Safely operate the Gulfstream GV, determine routes, and/or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.

· Ensure compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures during flights.

· Implement necessary changes as required by en route conditions to maintain compliance with company policies.

· Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.

· Complete all trip paperwork accurately in accordance with current procedures.

· Ensure clear communication and understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight.

· Record and report aircraft discrepancies immediately to the director of maintenance or their designee.

· Ensure flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.

· Maintain a thorough knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.

· Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if necessary.

· Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized agencies.

· File or ensure a flight plan is filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.

· Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended landing and alternate airports.

· Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate this duty to the second in command.

· Mentor the second in command to prepare them for potential emergency situations or upgrades.

· Complete and send the leg manifest and End of Day (EOD) report to ops control.

· Actively support open sharing of information on safety issues and report all safety hazards.

· Report any hazardous actions or events to the chief pilot and director of safety.

· While the pilot in command may delegate duties, they retain ultimate responsibility.

· Other duties may be assigned as needed.

· Represent Assent Aeronautics, LLC internally and externally with industry groups and regulatory bodies.

Physical Demands

 

The physical demands for this role are representative of those required to successfully perform essential functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities. While performing duties, employees must use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or reach. Frequent standing, walking, or sitting is required, with occasional climbing or balancing. Employees must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

 

Employees may work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. Noise levels typically range from moderate to loud, especially when aircraft are arriving or departing. Employees may be exposed to vibrations and occasional fuel fumes. Must be willing to work in all types of weather conditions.
