Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer - Water/Wastewater Facilities
Location: Denver, CO
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000

About the Role:
A growing engineering firm is seeking a qualified Principal Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of electrical systems for water and wastewater facility projects . This individual will lead or contribute to the electrical design efforts on a variety of projects and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in industrial power design, and comfortable working with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute electrical design efforts on industrial infrastructure projects.

  • Design of medium and low voltage power distribution systems, motor controls, VFDs, lighting systems, and equipment layouts.

  • Ensure designs meet NEC and applicable codes and standards.

  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff as needed.

  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.

  • Conduct field inspections for installations, assessments, and ongoing design needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5-15 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical design.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE), with the ability to obtain license in additional states.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

  • Experience with SKM and/or ETAP electrical analysis software.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and BIM processes.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems (field devices, PLCs, HMIs, etc.).

  • Background in the water/wastewater industry is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with construction documentation, submittal review, and QA/QC processes.
