- Job Title: Mid-Level Project Manager

- Type: Contract

- Level: Mid-Level

- Location: Fully Remote (Any US time zone), with a preference for candidates who can work hybrid 2 days per week from either 901 K street in Washington DC or Redwest-A in Redmond, WA

- Workplace: Hybrid remote position within the United States

- Duration: ASAP to November 30th, 2024

- How would you ensure efficient project management and customer communication in a nonpartisan team supporting the 2024 US Elections?

- Are you comfortable working with political campaigns, election authorities, and elections technology vendors?

- How do you handle logistics, tracking, and scheduling of projects in a fast-paced environment?

- Can you handle cybersecurity incident response planning and tier-1 triage of customer issues?

3. Summary of the opportunity

- Client Overview: We are hiring for a nonpartisan team that coordinates support for organizations underpinning free and secure elections, such as political campaigns, election authorities, and think tanks.

- Role Summary: As a Mid-Level Project Manager, you will be responsible for security operations planning, administrative support, and customer communications & presentations to support our 2024 US Elections customers and Election Situation Room.

 

4. What are the key responsibilities?

- Develop and execute logistics for the "election situation room" including cybersecurity incident response plans, customer support escalation paths, and Standard Operating Procedures. Also, provide Tier-1 triage of customer issues. [40% time]

- Interact directly with customers, including political campaigns, election authorities, and presidential candidates, to present and explain Microsoft's election security and cloud offerings. [30% time]

- Project manage, track, update, and generate status reports & project metrics for elections workstreams. [10% time]

- Coordinate and schedule customer conversations and internal meetings. [20% time]

 

5. What experience are we looking for to drive success?

- MUST-Have Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum 4 years experience in operations, security operations center, and/or project management

- Minimum 2 years experience in or around the US Elections ecosystem

- Minimum 2 years experience with cybersecurity concepts and topics (non-technical is OK) or IT customer support functions

- Minimum 2 years experience with written communications and presentations to Executives/VIPs/high-level customers

- Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience working with US elections and state & local governments

- Experience in the field of cybersecurity

- Experience developing written procedures

- Customer-facing experience and comfort giving presentations and explaining products/services/offers

- Bachelor's degree or higher

- 4-6+ years of relevant experience working in operations roles, ideally in an elections or campaigns context
