Key Responsibilities:

• Work Shift: • Shift: Day Shift
• Schedule: PRN (Flexible, As-Needed)
• Exemplary Practice: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation for pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative surgical patients. Provide relationship-based, culturally competent care.
• Teamwork & Collaboration: Coordinate and document safe patient care, promoting effective communication within the surgical team (surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs) and maintaining a respectful clinical environment.
• Clinical Duties: Prepare patients for surgery, assist in the operating room as needed, monitor patients in recovery (PACU), administer medications, provide patient/family education, and ensure precise documentation.
• Professional Development: Complete all required competencies and education. Serve as a preceptor/mentor and model professional nursing practice.
• Quality & Safety: Promote evidence-based practice and participate in performance improvement. Uphold all policies, procedures, and accreditation standards (e.g., TJC Patient Safety Goals).

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (required upon hire)
• Minimum 1 year of recent, relevant acute care clinical nursing experience
• Experience in surgical, perioperative, or procedural nursing
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing is required .
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred .
• Licensure/Certification:
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• PALS and/or NRP certification is preferred .
• Minimum 1 year of recent, relevant acute care clinical nursing experience is required .
• Experience in an OR, PACU, Pre-Op, surgical floor, or other perioperative setting is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, surgical procedures, and post-anesthesia recovery.
• Commitment to patient safety and quality improvement.
