Cenvar Roofing Commercial/Industrial has an immediate opening for a  Safety Coordinator.

This position is based out of our Corporate office in Lynchburg, VA with regular travel throughout Central Virginia to cover the service territories. The successful candidate will have 2 years of professional experience in construction and/or general industry safety.

Safety Coordinator Duties

• Perform routine safety and policy enforcement inspections to ensure employees and contractors are operating safely to OSHA and Cenvar standards
• Recognize the need for, present ideas, and execute changes with executive approval
• Issue violation notices and stop work orders when necessary and appropriate
• Coordinate and conduct safety training as needed
• Keep and track daily logs, including photographs taken during inspections
• Provide written, well-organized documentation of findings
• Ability to build and maintain a rapport with employees and contractors that fosters a collaborative work environment
• As we are a growing company, you understand that the territory you service has the potential to expand
• Other safety, training, and compliance duties as assigned

Minimum Skills & Requirements

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Cenvar Commercial/Industrial insurance policy
• High school diploma
• OSHA 30 for General Industry and/or Construction, or the ability to obtain the training within 90 days of hire
• At least 2 years of relevant work history
• Experience with construction job sites and equipment, and/or experience with manufacturing or distribution facilities and equipment
• Must have basic knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
• Climbing, reading, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, crawling, standing and walking without reasonable accommodation and in all weather conditions
• Able to work in confined spaces or at heights without accommodation
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License or the ability to get one during course of employment.
• Utilization of common courtesy within a team environment
• Must be dependable and self-motivated, professional, and have the ability to work without direct supervision
• Must be fluid & flexible in evolving work duties

Preferred Candidate (but not required):

• May have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Safety, or related field
• May have advanced safety training and/or certifications such as (but not limited to) Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP) credentials, train-the-trainer course completion, etc.
• May have over 3 years of experience in construction and/or general industry safety as their past full-time duties
• May have over 3 years of experience in policy creation and/or instructing training courses (safety-related or not)
• May have a FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot’s license
• Bilingual (English-Spanish)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
