Job Description

We are an industry-leading provider of general contracting and design build services for the federal government. Performing heavy civil and vertical construction, our teams build unique structures and infrastructure. We are currently in need of a Safety Manager in our OKC office. 

Position Overview
The Safety Officer position is responsible for ensuring a safe work environment for all employees. The job holder will implement and maintain safety procedures and regulations, and will work to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Provide safety training to employees and advise them on safe work practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents and prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of safety equipment and supplies.
  • Stay up-to-date on safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Communicate with government agencies, contractors and other stakeholders regarding safety issues in the workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety-related role in construction, heavy civil, marine construction, aerospace, healthcare, industrial, bridges, federal, state, or school settings.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with emergency response planning.
  • Certification in relevant safety programs is preferred.
