School Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

Phaxis Education is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to support students in the Early Childhood and Transitional Programs (ages 18–22) .

The nurse will provide both direct medical care and collaborative support within the educational setting, including participation in evaluations and IEP meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, including:
• Diabetes management (blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration as applicable)
• Tube feeding and related medical supports
• Support early childhood, preschool, and transition-aged students across assigned programs
• Participate in evaluations, IEP meetings, and care planning for students with special needs
• Collaborate closely with special education staff, teachers, therapists, and administration
• Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with school health regulations
• Serve as a medical resource for staff and families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota
• Previous school nursing or pediatric/special education experience preferred
• Experience with: Diabetes care, Tube feedings, Medically complex students
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently in a school-based setting
