Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Project Manager to lead end-to-end security initiatives across multiple teams. This role will oversee project intake, define scope, manage scheduling, and coordinate resources within the technology team, including application developers, engineers, and data scientists. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing security projects and working with cross-functional teams to align business needs with project execution, while leveraging agile methodologies and tools to drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead security projects from initiation to completion, including gathering requirements, defining scope, scheduling, and resourcing.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple teams across the organization to ensure alignment with business goals and project timelines.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint closing, and retrospectives.
  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet) to track project execution and data.
  • Work closely with program management to prioritize portfolio, define OKRs, and develop project milestones and roadmaps.
  • Provide clear, concise reporting on project status, including timelines, milestones, and risk assessments to Security management and stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and escalate critical operational tasks; adapt project work plans as necessary to meet changing needs.
  • Leverage business intelligence tools like PowerBI to track KPIs, assess project health, and initiate corrective actions when needed.
  • Conduct Portfolio Reviews to evaluate project and resource health, risk assessments, and progress against OKRs.
  • Coordinate quarterly planning for Security, ensuring alignment on objectives, resource capacity, and key metrics.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify team inefficiencies and implement process improvements to streamline operations and improve velocity.

Must Have:

  • Proven experience working on security projects, with strong knowledge of security systems and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience leading agile teams and managing cross-functional resources (e.g., developers, engineers, data scientists).
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as Smartsheet, and the ability to manage tasks via waterfall, scrum, or kanban methodologies.
  • Strong background in business intelligence applications (e.g., PowerBI) for executive-level reporting and decision-making.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating portfolio reviews, prioritization processes, and risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex projects, with a focus on security initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
