Senior Business Intelligence Analyst – Rosemont IL (2 days onsite)

No C2C and No Sponsorship / Contract-to-hire: 6 month contract

Pay: $45 - $58 per hour

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will provide quantitative and qualitative subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders, supporting data-driven decision-making that improves overall business performance and operational efficiencies. This role is responsible for developing, refining, and utilizing various analytics, modeling, and reporting tools to interpret data and support strategic initiatives. The incumbent will take a lead role in enhancing data systems, configuring data elements, and integrating internal and external data sources. Working in collaboration with data scientists and business teams, the Senior BI Analyst will establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analyses to generate valuable insights.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

• Assess and maximize knowledge and insights from transactional and historical data.
• Understand key business questions and translate them into mathematical models for strategic analysis.
• Identify and present actionable patterns in data, researching trends to inform business strategies.

Advanced Data Modeling & Reporting

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends and generate actionable insights.
• Utilize complex programming and statistical methods to extract, analyze, and visualize data.
• Develop predictive models and dashboards to support business objectives and performance monitoring.

Database & Data Collection Standardization

• Design database structures and validation processes to enhance data accuracy and usability.
• Develop methods for centralized data warehousing and efficient data extraction.
• Conduct statistical and trend analyses to support business operations and outcome-based initiatives.

BI & Analytics Platform Development

• Identify opportunities to enhance analytical platforms and streamline reporting processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement best practices in data integration and visualization.
• Document business and technical feasibility assessments, evaluating data gaps and optimizing processes.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Effectively communicate findings and reports to various stakeholders.
• Ensure data governance and quality standards are met while fostering a data-driven culture.
• Provide expertise on business intelligence tools and techniques to improve decision-making.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Statistics, or a related field, or 5+ years of experience in data analysis and BI solutions.
• 3–5 years of experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to create meaningful data visualizations and storytelling.
• Expertise in developing user-friendly self-service BI tools and dashboards.
• Experience publishing BI applications and working with embedded analytics solutions.
• Knowledge of statistical methodologies, probability, and data modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and data blending techniques.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Power BI, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with healthcare IT systems, electronic medical records, or financial analytics.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for data privacy and security (HIPAA, HITECH).
• Formal software engineering training or experience with Agile methodologies.
